Civitas supports and participates “We pedal in the footsteps of Brancoveanu, from Bolintin Vale to Potlogi
With the still fresh memory of the brunch at Talpa, on August 11, we started again for the fourth edition of the cycling event “We pedal in the footsteps of Brâncoveanu, from Bolintin Vale to Potlogi”.
Before going on the road, at Bolintin Vale we took a small history lesson from Bolintineanu Tcb Grigore and Ciprian Necșuțu, we enjoyed homemade sweets offered by the Saint Stylianus-Children’s Protector Christian Association, Bolintin Vale and with maximum energy we headed to Roata de Jos.
Here, at the Sadina Church – a historical monument, built in 1668 – we were received with bread and salt, with delicious donuts and lemonade and then we participated in a Fair of small craftsmen and local producers organized by GAL Inima Giurgiului – Tara Neajlovului and Calnistei with the support of the commune Mayor’s office. We then transited Corbii Mari and after leaving our bikes to rest in the Potlogi Dambovita Tourist Information Center yard, we arrived at the Brâncovenesc Palace, where the My Secret Romania team waited for us again with dishes from the local gastronomy prepared with love. They delighted us and we caught up in the dance with the members of the Călușarii ensemble in Odobești and then visited the imposing Brâncovenesc Palace in Potlogi. Upon arrival we enjoyed a special raffle and a lot of joy for another successful tour.
It was the second cycling event part of a community development project supported by OMV Petrom and implemented by the ROI Association and Outhentic Cycling Romania, with the exceptional support and involvement of My Secret Romania and GAL Inima Giurgiului – Tara Neajlovului and Calnistei.
We thank the local authorities in Bolintin Vale, Roata de Jos, Corbii Mari and Potlogi as well as Civitas Group for their contribution to this project and, who knows, maybe in October we will ride again on bicycles to a beautiful destination in southern Romania!
