Perimeter Protection

Perimeter protection systems represent the exterior version of traditional alarm systems. These can be mounted on fences or can delimit a logical perimeter that benefits from protection and alerts the security company when there is unauthorized access.

There are five major types of perimeter systems: infrared beam systems, electric fences, microwave systems, fiber optic systems, and sensitive cable systems, each suitable for different types of targets and conditions.

Perimeter systems are very useful for increasing security levels, optimizing costs by eliminating guarding, producing evidence of unauthorized access, and even deterring potential criminals.

Infrared Barriers

Infrared BarrierState-of-the-art IR barriers allow discrimination between a human intruder and animals that accidentally enter the IR beam area, as well as zoning the distance between the columns where IR emitters and columns where IR receivers are installed.
Recommended for: use in the protection of small perimeters, buildings, building facades, constructions where there is a high risk of fire or explosion (IR barriers will be installed outside, surrounding the building).

Electric Fences

Electric FencesMounting electric fences integrated with a perimeter CCTV solution leads to almost complete elimination of errors generated by false alarms.
Recommended for: use in protecting sensitive, large perimeters (electric fencing is a cost-effective solution) that do not require high detection precision in the area where the intrusion attempt occurs, in areas where the penetration of wild animals is to be prevented, in areas where vegetation is not abundant, and where snowfalls are not high during winter. Electric fencing is highly recommended for installation as an overhang on hard-to-penetrate fences (brick, concrete, wrought iron).

Microwave Barriers

Microwave BarrierThe barrier consists of a transmitter and a receiver placed face to face, which generates an electromagnetic field, thus protecting a perimeter. This system does not react to false alarms caused by weather phenomena, small animals, or vegetation.
Recommended for: use where a very high level of security is desired.

Fiber Optic Detection

It consists of installing a fiber optic cable on flexible fences (steel mesh, barbed wire) and its operating principle consists of detecting changes in the parameters of the light signal, as a result of the deformation or interruption of the fiber optic, and generating an alarm to the monitoring center. When used together with a perimeter CCTV solution, it eliminates errors.
Recommended for: use in securing large perimeters (served by security personnel who can intervene as needed in the intrusion area), protected by flexible fences (steel mesh, barbed wire) and which do not require very high detection precision (100m-200m) of the intrusion attempt.

Sensitive Cable Detection

Sensitive Cable DetectionIt consists of installing a sensitive cable on flexible fences (steel mesh, barbed wire) and its operating principle consists of detecting changes in the electromagnetic field parameters between the conductors embedded in the cable, as a result of the deformation or interruption of the cable and generating an alarm to the monitoring center. When used together with a perimeter CCTV solution, it eliminates errors.
Recommended for: use in securing large perimeters (served by security personnel who can intervene as needed in the intrusion area), protected by flexible fences (steel mesh, barbed wire) and which require high detection precision (3m-50m) of the intrusion attempt.
